In-Unit Laundry Machines
Please carefully read and follow all instructions for the washers and dryers regarding the proper use of the machines.
Do not overload the machines when washing or drying. When the machines are overloaded, they will not wash or dry your clothes properly and it will damage the machines. These machines have motors and rubber belts that can only withstand a reasonable weight and strength. Overloading them will either burn the motor or tear the rubber belt. The cost to repair these machines is substantial. If you damage the machine, you will be responsible for the cost of repairs.
Do not wash or dry pillows, comforters, heavy blankets, tennis shoes/sneakers, sports equipment, or any other bulky items that will impact the balance of the machines. These should be washed at a local laundromat that provides large machines.
Remove all gum/napkins from pockets prior to use of the machine. The gum will melt in the dryer and attach to the drum, causing it to get smeared on the clothes being dried.
Clean the dryer lint filter gently prior to starting the dryer.
A digital display shows the time remaining in the cycle. Please promptly remove your laundry to avoid mold and bacteria buildup.
Use only HE detergents and use only a small amount (no more than the lowest line of the measuring cap). If you overload your laundry with detergent, it’s not going to wash out of your washer or any clothing inside. When the residue is left in the washer, it’s left there with dirt and grime lodged in it, too, which becomes a breeding ground for bacteria.
After using the washer and removing your clothing from it, leave the washer door and detergent drawer open so that any remaining water can evaporate. Wipe the rubber gasket dry and remove any objects.
You understand that you may be held responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of any damage directly or proximately caused by your failure to properly use the machines, including but not limited to water damage and/or machine repair or replacement.
Advise any occupant under the age of eighteen (18) who does laundry in your household of these instructions.
